The Ultimate Blueberry Smoothie Recipe
On one of my many health kicks, I sought out some smoothie recipes for my blender; quite frankly, they were vile. The result was often a glass of brown sludge that was tortuous to drink. Or rather, gulp slowly because they were so thick and fibrous. Who are these masochists who down this gloop every day I wondered?
It wasn’t long before I had created my own recipe filled with ingredients I would gladly stick with. I’m delighted to share it with you and to spare you the tortuous brown sludge and the self-defeating feeling of failure because you just can’t bear it. Let’s normalise the creation of healthy habits that the weak/sane (delete according to your perspective) find tasty and can maintain. Ingredients
180g of blueberries frozen or fresh is fine
1 small banana sliced
1 small apple chopped up
5-6 mint leaves
100ml apple juice
1tsp of flaxseed
½ tsp grated ginger
Method
Pop everything into the blender and whizz it up, if it’s too thick add a little more apple juice or water if you’d prefer. Place a sprig of mint and a few blueberries on top to garnish.
